Import taxes in Ukraine
10% duty, excise of €50 per litre of engine (petrol up to 3.0 L; €100 above) or €75 (diesel up to 3.5 L; €150 above) multiplied by the age coefficient, then 20% VAT. Electric cars: no duty, €1 per kWh excise, 20% VAT.
Shipping
Most cars go in a shared 40-foot container from a US east-coast port to Klaipėda or Gdynia, then by road, typically about $1,500 per car and 30–45 days door to door. Prices change with the season and the departure port, so type your own quote into the calculator.
Good to know
- The age coefficient is the number of years since the model year, minus one, between 1 and 15.
- Customs broker, certification and registration (pension fund fee) are extra.
- Rules change often; check with a Ukrainian customs broker before you bid.
Check the car before you bid
US auction cars often have a past: earlier accidents, a flood title in another state, or a previous rebuild. A VinCode report shows title brands, total-loss events, odometer readings and earlier auction sales for the VIN. See the fees on their own in the Copart and IAA calculators.
